As a youth leader, I facilitate weekly instruction and consistent dialogue about applicable Biblical concepts with middle school students in a small group setting. I prepare weekly devotionals and engaging activities to deepen students’ understanding of the Bible. This is in an effort to develop and foster an intentional community in a small-group setting that students can apply to their everyday relationships with peers and family members. My volunteer experience consists of serving in cross-cultural and trans-religious ministry in diverse settings, preparing lessons and devotionals for staff, children, and church services to foster an environment of spiritual growth and community development, and supporting the basic needs of children with special needs, including cooking, feeding, and basic healthcare support. Some of my relevant courses include two years of Hebrew, Old Testament, Linguistics, and Community Development Programing. I was a member of the Bible Translation Program - a cohort trained in cross-cultural communication regarding the linguistic approaches to the Biblical text - and La Vida at Gordon College - a faith based adventure education program focused on youth development.
