Lookman Oshodi is the Project Director of ARCTIC INFRASTRUCTURE (AI), a private organization with a broad focus on infrastructure delivery, urban development & the environment. With expertise in infrastructure project design, implementation, management & financing, he has led AI as a critical player in the global infrastructure market. He is working on using smart & climate resilience infrastructure to drive the regeneration of cities in developing countries. He is currently coordinating a Green Climate Fund bid project with the AI in conjunction with the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, WaterAid UK, UNDP and UN-Habitat. He is leading the design and implementation of the Nigerian first climate resilience and urban infrastructure project at the local government level with an 85% project rating from ICLEI. He initiated the Lagos WASH Investors’ Café at the 2022 Lagos International Water Conference, attracting private capital to the WASH Sector in Lagos State. He is the initiator of the Nigerian City Development and Climate Impact Challenge (The City Impact Challenge) with the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners to mobilize local and foreign capitals for the implementation of climate resilience projects in Nigeria. He is leading Heinrich Boll Stiftung (hbs) assessment projects on housing, transport and other climate-resilient infrastructure in the city of Lagos & coordinating the Dutch Alliance for Sustainable Urban Development in Africa (DASUDA) development projects focusing on housing, transportation, water, green public spaces, smart infrastructure & sustainable environmental development in Lagos. He had worked with Save the Children International, SUPPORT of Switzerland, Water Aid UK & Community Energy Scotland on the design & construction of water & sanitation, healthcare, energy, housing & other urban infrastructure projects.He served as the Program Coordinator for the reform of the Nigerian Land Use Policy with a view to enhancing land accessibility for infrastructure development in Nigeria & worked as a consultant to update the National Human Settlement Policy for the Republic of Rwanda. He led the preparation of the proposed Lagos State Social Housing Policy & Buckminster Fuller Award finalist Makoko/Iwaya Waterfront Regeneration Plan that targets affordable housing & multiple infrastructure. He is a fellow in “Sustainable Infrastructure Delivery in Developing Countries” from the Center for Understanding Sustainable Practice, School of Engineering, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland.
