I am currently working as a Software Engineer for Cisco Systems in Reading. Working on the Elastic Services Controller product; a VNFM in the ETSI-MANO architecture. In multiple capacities using mostly Java as well as Python and other languages. I work in most areas of the development stack; back-end development, UI work with RESTful APIs as well as scripting, general bug fixing and testing. Comprehensive use of Linux, Git and Gradle is a large part component of my current role.

Started working at Cisco on the Prime Order Fulfillment suite, Cisco's OSS offering in the Service Fulfillment space. In multiple capacities including UI work with Javascript RESTful APIs, HMTL/CSS, as well as automated testing using Java and Selenium. Also working sporadically on installation (Glassfish, Weblogic and ANT script work), Oracle Databases and comprehensive Linux experience.

Assisting with Java practicals for 2nd year students at the University of Reading. Helping the students 1-to-1 when they need assistance.

Providing Technical Support and Solutions to IBM's partners and customers. Involves working in an CSCS certified Operations Engineer in an IT team that is working in a much larger office moves team. Pure IT Moves is contracted to BMG (Business Moves Group) who move corporate offices to either refurbish them or move them to different locations. The IT team has to audit and decommission the workstations before the porters can remove the desks etc. Also have to recommission the IT after the move has been done, which involves a lot of teamwork, travelling, intuition, time keeping, and IT knowledge. Working for mainly Lloyds but also including others such as HP, National Rail, Covance, Carrillion. Working all over the country including London, Birmingham and Gloucester.

During the summer between my first and second years at University I worked in a Public House as a Bartender. This again was forcing myself into a new challenge, and developed more customer relations and problem solving skills as well as experience of working in a different kind of team.

I worked as a shop floor salesman in an old-fashioned local store with 3 or 4 open departments, I worked in all 4 and on more than one occasion ran each of the departments. I applied for this job to push myself out of my comfort zone of working in a kitchen and start interacting with the public.After 2 years of the job I was put in charge of a department on each of the 4 days of the week that i worked at the height of season in Summer. I also broke the record at the time for the most sold in a single day of over £2000.The four departments of the shop were Boating Equipment and Jackets, Shoes, Ladies Fashion and Mens Clothing. I primarily worked in Shoes and also Boating, learning a lot about the industry and items in a short space of time to effectively interact with customers.The shop implemented a very old fashioned approach of where the shop floor worker must actively complete the sale from start to finish. This led to a development in a large range of skills, such as using my initiative, communication skills, customer relations, handling disputes and problems, selling in general, adaptability, as well as allowing me to create a more approachable persona .

I worked as a kitchen porter for nearly 3 years, I lived in a seasonal seaside town, during the summer months very long hours and hot and stressful environment.The job included dish washing, kitchen cleaning and some smaller starter and dessert preparation. Whilst working here I also always had at least one other job, this encouraged me to develop good relations with managers and bosses as well and juggling shifts.

3 years of delivering papers on a paper round. 6 days a week and covered other rounds for some weeks. It enabled me to develop good time keeping and discipline from a young age. I also had this job whilst having 2 other jobs,

I worked for one summer in a public house, collecting glasses and serving food, and also any general jobs that needed doing. Taught good time keeping, sometimes very high pressured work as well as developing customer relations.

My first job at the age of 13, in a restaurant environment, very high-pace, high pressure job. Where i first developed a good work ethic and have continued since.
