Freelance Software Developer And ConsultantFeanor Slf. Mar 2012 - PresentCapital Region, IcelandOver the past years, I have worked as a freelance developer and consultant on a variety of projects. My recent focus has been on developing timian.is, where I am the lead developer. Timian is a web-based order management and procurement solution for large institutions. The solution is owned by Origo. I also collaborated with Alfreð (alfred.is) on one of their recent projects, giggo.is, designing the database and implementing the backend in Kotlin.Earlier I worked with Stokkur Software (stokkur.is) on Domino's web store in Iceland (dominos.is) and then also with Keldan (keldan.is) on one of their projects.I have also worked on numerous Drupal/PHP projects, such as developing solutions for:- RÚV (https://ruv.is) – Iceland’s National Broadcasting Service- Landskerfi (https://landskerfi.is): Consortium of Icelandic Libraries- NI (https://ni.is)—Icelandic Institute of Natural History- Reykjavík City: Various internal projects using DrupalI have designed and implemented a reporting and invoice routing system for financial companies, which is currently utilized by several market participants in Iceland.Additionally, I have maintained and made incremental improvements to a trading solution I developed for H.F. Cto And Software Development ManagerH.F. Verðbréf Jan 2007 - Mar 2012H.F. Verðbréf was the first company in Iceland to offer DMA (direct market access) to customers. This meant a lot of innovation and software development. I was hired to oversee this work and was responsible for the implementation as well as for hiring in other developers and managing relations with IT contractors.Initially we used Orc Trading Solutions and implemented services interfacing with Orc. In this work we designed and implemented web-based solutions, using Java for backend and business logic, and PHP and Ajax technologies for building the frontend. Following the financial crash in Iceland in 2008, we basically had to start over again. We threw out the Orc and decided to design and implement an order/trade management system to take its place. A driving factor was also protocol changes introduced by the Nasdaq Exchange. Then we also built https://keldan.is which is still one of the most visited website in Iceland. In all this I worked extensively with Spring, Hibernate, Maven, Tomcat and other Java technologies plus the frontend technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
