I have been promoted to Negotiator where I still continue my roles as a claim handler, just with some additional responsibilities. As part of my role as Negotiator, I assist my team manager and senior with the day to day operations within my team. Each day is different where one day I could be allocating work out to the team to complete, where another day I will be reviewing my team’s work and providing feedback where necessary. Due to my level of experience, I am a main referral point in my team and department where I will assist and mentor other handlers when needed.

I am working in the Third Party Disputes department where I investigate all road traffic collision claims where there is a dispute in liability. As part of this role, my job is to manage my own caseload of 600+ cases and to negotiate liability with third party representatives while also keeping our customers updated throughout the process.

Four years into the job as a customer assistant, I was given the responsibility to train all new members of staff who joined the store. This would mean giving them a tour of the store, introducing them to members of the team and providing the day to day training on how to successfully do the job. This job did not end with new starters as I was responsible for making sure all members of staff were provided with regular training and that all their training records were up to date.

I joined Lidl on a part time basis whilst I was completing my college and university studies. My day to day varied as I would complete all jobs from manning the tills, to working in the bakery, to stocking shelves. The one thing that would never change is ensuring that I was providing the best customer service for our customers.
