About Osmany Torres

Osmany Torres is a Cuban born photographer currently located in the United States. He studied graphic design at Havana’s Institute of Design (ISDI). His career was influenced by his interaction with the world of advertising, and his relationship with the visual arts. For nearly a decade, he served as art director for the journal ArteCubano. As a result of many years of work in the fields of advertising and design, Osmany Torres’ photography is strongly charged with symbolism, as well as great care for elements balancing and framing.Torres is the recipient of two important awards: the National Prize in Design awarded by Cuba’s National Design Bureau, and the National Curatorial Prize, awarded by Cuba’s National Council for the Visual Arts.
