My main duties currently are developing and testing the new upcoming vehicle registry database system and maintaining and helping with the current system. Mainly I work with the part of the system that covers vehicles technical data and the inspection/approval information. The inspection side of the system is used by for example vehicle inspectors around Finland and the idea is to develop the new front end of the system to be more user friendly and informative.Our team is also maintaining and developing the current system and testing the updates and providing technical support for those users with technical problems.My previous duties in the agency were related to market surveillance. Traficom is the marketsurveillance authority in the field of different means of transportation that is seen on public roads.While working for the market surveillance department, my duties varied a lot from making on-site inspections, to taking part in developing a software robot to handling some of the more repetitive duties. We also handled and investigated public notifications of products that might pose serious risk for the consumer, different recall-related issues and also worked around the Safetygate-system, which is an information exchange platform that informs other EU-member state authorities about products that may pose a serious risk for users.In addition our team also took part in different joint-actions market surveillance campaigns that were executed together with other EU-member state authorities.

While working for A-Katsastus I inspected the road worthiness of over 8,000 different vehicles. Purpose of the vehicle inspection is to make sure that the vehicles on public roads are safe for everyone. Succeeding in this position required good people skills and good knowledge of car technical requirements and technical solutions.I worked in several locations in the Uusimaa. Some MOT-stations are so small that this means working alone and in such cases you are in charge of everything, including handling different IT-systems, collecting cash from customers, and making sure customers are satisfied.
