Designed a wide range of products spanning: military computers, PDAs, electro-optic sensors, robotic vehicles, underwater navigation systems, laser rangefinders, day/night soldier vision systems, unattended ground sensors, broadband wireless networks and mini-UAVs.Products developed by Osterhout and Inter-4 include:• Simple Key Loader: (SKL or AN/PYQ-10): Hand held encrypted-key loading computer for communications and weapons systems that sold over 500k units.• Tacti-Net: Broadband, wireless mesh network that connects forward troops, reinforcements, and central command to a single network that shares essential data on multi-function devices.• Tacti-Sight: Helmet-mounted displays for live video relays from war fighters on the battlefield.• Tacti-Comp (T1.5): Ruggedized hand held computers with Tacti-Net mesh network radios. Featured GPS with live maps showing users locations on the network, touch screen text messaging, and send/receive video and voice capabilities on a 256-bit AES encrypted radio. The Tacti-Comp also controls unmanned vehicles such as the Tacti-Bot.• Tacti-Comp 5 (T5): Mobile touchscreen combat computer. Larger and more powerful Tacti-Comp with same mesh communication and GPS location abilities.• Tacti-Bot: A wireless 6-wheel drive, 4-wheel steering robotic vehicle with a 5-axis arm designed to disarm IED’s and inspect threatening devices while being operated remotely for over 5 miles.• Micro Mesh Router: A miniature wireless mesh transceiver that relays data up to 30 miles which links squads in the field to command centers and gives situational awareness in real-time data transmissions.• Ballistic Camera/LCD Display Goggles.• GPS/IMU-guided Underwater Navigation-Board.

Created products under the Machina brand and developed products for other brands under the company Team Machina. Together the companies sold over 500 million in consumer goods. Some of the clients of Team Machina included: Tiger Electronics, Brookstone, Specialized, Sega, Nike, Playmates, Tonka, Yes!, Milton Bradley, Ray-o-Vac, Lockheed Martin, Fisher-Price, Hasbro, Ban Dai and Eddie Bauer.

Products developed include:PVS-7 Night Vision Goggles: Revolutionary design that weighed only 1.5 pounds--less than half as much as previous PVS-5A goggles. The PVS-7 was designed, engineered and tooled in just 3 months. Dual wavelength Laser Aiming System: Allows for successful targeting at 650 meters.Laser Hardened Telescopic Sight: six inches long and mounts on an M-16 or M-4. Coated lenses protect a soldier’s eye by turning opaque to the exposure of laser within milliseconds. Designed and Fielded in 52 days.MK-19 Closed-Circuit Mixed Gas Rebreather: Features a non-magnetic, non-acoustic construction that does not emit bubbles. LPU-9: A first-of-a-kind, compact life preserver system designed to be worn by Navy pilots and to automatically inflate in the event of a splash down. Diver Active Thermal Protection System: Circulates warm water through a closed-circuit, combat diver’s suit to maintain a constant body temperature by burning magnesium at 5,000 degrees.
