Providing full operational support to Supply Chain of the largest, multi-specialty hospital in the UAE offering comprehensive healthcare services – a flagship facility and a joint venture of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) and Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN, USA). In partnership with SSMC/Mayo team, directing transition of supply chain operations from SEHA to Rafed – the region’s first Group Purchasing Organization (GPO). Responsible for clinical integration of Supply Chain, setting up Value Analysis program, supporting implementation of SSMC-Mayo transition plan, including automation of various supply chain operations, and advancement of data analytics capabilities. In conjunction with Rafed leadership team, redesigning processes to achieve standardization and drive efficiencies to improve financial bottom line, and facilitate overall supply chain optimization. Acting as a mentor and facilitator of professional development to SSMC Supply Chain and Rafed team members.

Set and executed strategy for multi-million dollar contracts portfolio in Orthopedic and Spine categories. Maintained the existing contract management function and sourcing operations under legacy CHI. Directed initial contract conversion opportunity identification across 2 health systems (CHI and Dignity Health), following their merger and creation of CommonSpirit Health.

Set and executed strategy for contracting in Orthopedic and Spine categories with $370 Million in annual supply spend, at the nation’s one of the largest (14,555 beds) not-for-profit health systems, comprising 101 hospitals across 18 states, including academic medical centers, critical access facilities, level I trauma centers, urban and rural hospitals, with operating revenue of ~$16 Billion. Directed contract negotiations, management, compliance, Value Analysis and new products. Partnered with HealthTrust GPO.

Set and executed strategy for contracting in Cardiovascular/Cardiac Surgery (CV) category with $330 Million in annual supply spend. Worked closely with CV Service Line leadership and physician chairs of 8 CV sub-committees, built consensus, advanced Supply Chain agenda and priorities. Managed contract negotiations, compliance and rebates, Value Analysis and new products, and monitored the outcomes. -- Negotiated and awarded new, high complexity contracts for several key product segments in Interventional Cardiology, resulting in hard savings and value-added benefit of over $5 Million. -- Achieved significant value enhancement for Watchman, TAVR and capital equipment programs. -- In FY-2017 CV Category Team exceeded $21 Million goal and achieved delivery of over $25 Million in savings.

Established, executed and directed a high quality, efficient process for product/service selection, sourcing, utilization and cost-effectiveness at a large public, safety net, acute care hospital (862 beds). Led the team of four registered nurses, providing expertise in supply expense management; managed new product entry; collaborated with Vizient (Parkland’s GPO) on cost/case analytics development utilizing information from Clinical Data Base (CDB).

Led national team of portfolio executives and portfolio administrator to negotiate national contracts in Cardiology, CV, Neurovascular, and Cardiac Surgery specialties for over 1,350-member organizations and 118 academic medical centers of VHA Inc. and UHC (University HealthSystem Consortium) healthcare alliances, and other customers of Provista, and CHA (Children’s Hospital Association). Directed all cardiology business unit operations, strategic direction, budget, revenue stream and performance of contracts, representing over $3.3 Billion in total member spend. Led, set the agenda and carried out operational responsibilities for Novation’s CV Council – primary decision-making body of the GPO.

Directed strategy setting, contracting, personnel, budget, and carried out other operational responsibilities for Cardiovascular, Orthopedic, Spine, Neurosurgical and GI business units. Led team of 2 directors, 12 portfolio executives, and support staff to successfully complete several major bids and related national contract negotiations. Made significant contribution to the design and implementation of new process for consulting engagements with hospitals and supply networks. Led numerous member consulting engagements personally. All contracts managed by my teams amounted to member spend of over $5 Billion. Set the agenda and carried out operational responsibilities for Novation’s CV and Orthopedic Councils.
