As the Access to Medicines and Diagnostics Lead at ITPC Global and the founder of the Make Medicines Affordable (MMA) Campaign, I have dedicated over two decades to improving global health outcomes. My work primarily focuses on dismantling intellectual property and regulatory barriers to ensure access to affordable generic medicines for critical conditions such as HIV, HCV, TB, COVID-19, Cervical Cancer and other diseases.I hold a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from University Hassan II, Casablanca, and advanced degrees in biomaterials and dentofacial orthopedics from prestigious institutions in Paris (Paris V – VI). My expertise spans public health policy analysis, community-based health service delivery, intellectual property law, and the intersection of gender, sexual health, and human rights.Throughout my career, I have led numerous advocacy campaigns, developed comprehensive training programs, and conducted impactful research, all aimed at fostering a more equitable global health landscape. My current roles include serving as a member of the WHO Strategic and Technical Advisory Committee on HIV/AIDS, UNAIDS’s Reference Group on Human Rights and contributing to various international health organizations.Fluent in Arabic, French, and English, I am committed to leveraging my multilingual capabilities and extensive experience to drive forward meaningful change in public health policies and access to essential medicines and other health products.
