> Leading the Representation & Campaigns team; and delivering the Union Strategic Plan by formulating operational plans, and team and individual objectives. > Leading on policy work, producing high quality research, reports and briefings that underpin the Union’s education policy, campaigns and lobbying priorities. > Building and maintaining strong relationships across the Union, UCL and externally. > Providing support to Student Officers, ensuring that they have high profiles and are empowered to fulfil their objectives. > Working with relevant Officers and Chairs, taking lead responsibility for servicing the Board of Trustees and its Committees, including business planning, board development and committee servicing. > Monitoring, measuring and increasing impact on students’ lives by increasing involvement in representative structures and campaign activity. > Maintaining an understanding of developments within Higher Education and ensuring the Union produces high quality responses to consultation exercises from UCL, the Government and other sector bodies. > Developing a robust Academic Representation scheme and associated strategies, in partnership with UCL. > Managing the development and implementation of operational support for democratic events and procedures. > Maintaining and advising on the governing documents and relevant legislation. > Developing budgets and managing expenditure for the Department and projects. > Ensuring activities are assessed for risk and controls are put in place to mitigate these, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety policies.

> Leading the Advice & Welfare team; and delivering the Union Strategic Plan by formulating operational plans, and team and individual objectives. > Managing the Advice service, to ensure that services conform to relevant quality standards, best practice and legislation, and specifically to the code of the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner and the Advice Quality Standard. > Developing proactive welfare support and provision in partnership with UCL and external organisations to address the needs of UCL students. > Ensuring effective electronic systems are in place to manage and maintain confidential casework records and provide accurate information on service usage. > Managing the delivery of the Student Visa Batch Scheme in liaison with UCL and UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI).
