Senior Expert in innovation management at Finlombarda, the Regional Development Agency of Lombardia, with a strong focus on open innovation, digital transformation and sustainability. I built my career on the experiences made and contacts developed in over 30 years of activity in technology transfer organisations and innovation support services, mainly operating within large international networks and projects. In the EEN since 2008, IRC since 1995. In the past ten years I spent a large share of my time in the design and launch of an Open Innovation Initiative, that led to the creation of the Regional Open Innovation platform of Lombardia (www.openinnovationlombardia.it), counting today (2024) over 23.000 registered users and 5000 active participants. This initiative is considered one of the flagship projects of the Regional Government and received the Triple Helix Medal Award at the #Triplehelixsummit2018. Previously I have been involved in the launch of the regional cluster initiative, aiming at establishing a regional technology cluster system. I have been on and off an evaluator of R&D+I projects on regional calls as well as an officer in charge of supervising the evaluation process. I have also acted in the role of technical project officer on the regional programmes for Research and Development and as a member of evaluation committees . I have been a certified ESCA expert for bronze label cluster benchmarking and a trained Imp3rove consultant. Last but not least, I am engaged since the very beginning in the Enterprise Europe Network, connecting over 3000 professionals around the world providing assistance to SMEs on sustainability, digital transformation, research, innovation and internationalisation topics.
