The event enabled students of architecture to observe the conversations that shape the built environment.• Conducted a design charrette highlighting the process and implementation of the Los Angeles Department of Transportation’s Pedestrian Plaza initiative know as “Streets for People.”• Coordinated with graduate students and with support from LADOT Pedestrian staff, in analyzing the processes that facilitate partnerships between the community and the city to transform under-used areas of street into public spaces.• Assisted teams of students in developing design concepts for sites identified by the City and coordinated with community stakeholders in presentation of the designs.
