I am a full-time caregiver to my mother, who was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) at 57 and is now 68. This journey has given me firsthand experience in facing the emotional, mental, and physical challenges that come with caring for a loved one with FTD. Over the years, this experience has driven my passion to support others navigating similar paths by offering guidance, resources, and a sense of community.To extend this support, I created OurFTDJourney, a blog where I document our story and share valuable insights to help fellow caregivers manage the realities of FTD. My goal is to raise awareness of this often misunderstood disease, educate others on its complexities, and empower caregivers with practical tools and advice to handle everyday struggles.In addition to the blog, I actively engage with a larger community on social media, where I share tips, advice, and encouragement for those facing the difficulties of dementia caregiving. By fostering a compassionate and inclusive space, I aim to make FTD as well-known as Alzheimer’s and provide caregivers with the support they deserve.
