About Casey Pfluger
Cortex Technologies – Novel Wearable Sensor Hardware and Wearable Brain Computer Interface HeadsetsAbout The Project For the almost 1 in 5 Australians affected by brain disorders such as acquired brain injury, learning disabilities, stroke, ADHD and autism, their brain disorder is a lifelong affliction with limited therapeutic interventions available and a significant social and economic cost to the affected individuals and their family members. The Cortex team have completed our MVP build for our advanced neurosensor system and our non-implanted wearable brain computer interface headset that utilises specific wavelengths of low intensity light that are able to measure brain activity changes in real time. We are now developing neurogaming software for use on Android, IOS and PC that not only has the potential to improve cognitive function but is also great fun to play!Users of our headset control game activity form of biofeedback that was previously not available to them. Instantaneous information about changes in different physically located regions of their brain activity. Real-time brain activity is compared to optimal healthy brain activity and the user receives a “reward” within the game when their brain activity moves towards optimal activity. Neurofeedback is a field of neurorehabilitation that has been increasingly explored and tested by researchers worldwide. Neurofeedback was recognised worldwide as an effective clinical treatment for ADHD in 2019 and is becoming established as a non-invasive yet effective tool for treatment of a wide range of neurological conditions. Cortex are committed to undertaking all the necessary licensing and regulatory processes before making any medical claims about our products and will be initially selling our devices as game-based meditation and cognitive exercise tools. The driving goal of this project is to build high quality technology that allows people to effortlessly harness the enormous potential of brain computer interface devices in the home and at work.
