Joined Africell as a member of the team of six engineers to launch a new network in a highlyCompetitive cellular market already shared by three operators. Following were my major accomplishments for the establishment of GSM900/1800 network. Working on BSS and transmission elements mentioned below: BSC: Architecture, Commission, Upgrade & Maintenance. TRAU: Architecture, Installation, Commission, Upgrade & Maintenance. BTS: (BS 60, BS Plus 240 XS, BS 240 XL & BS 241 1&2) Architecture, Installation, Commission, Upgrade & Maintenance. BR 7: Operation, Administration, Maintenance, Upgrade and knowledge inDatabase Parameters. BR 9: Operation, Administration, Maintenance and upgrade. Radio Commander 9 Administration and configuration. Database Parameters. Scripting Data base parameter Modification and Creation. Microwave Links (Siemens SRAL XD series & Stratex): Installation, Commissioning, Alignment & Pointing, Maintenance and Monitoring (Using Net Viewer for Siemens & Provision for Stratex). Power planning and installation on the site. Preventive and corrective maintenance of BSS and transmission elements. Onsite visit to analyze problem and taking remedial actions. Monitoring of Network performance by checking the BSS status (KPI) on daily basis. Upgrade the existing solution (software and hardware). Surveys with RF and IF planners for optimum site selection. Supervising new site installation: Indoor Installation, GSM antennas, MW Links, Feeders, IF cables and earthing. To ensure subcontracted works are carried out to required standards of quality. Launch of new sites. Reports generation about network performance and the BSS tasks on weekly basis. Recommendations to management for the improvement in network performance. Liaison and distribution of work with sub contractors and ensuring job accomplishmentAccording to acceptable standards and efficient time delivery to meet project schedule.
