As a Digital City Student Board member, we helped to decide the direction of some of the Middlesbrough Digital City's projects, during my year on the board I was the youngest member as 1st-year students are usually not permitted onto the board. This gave me ample opportunity to learn from others on the board and the digital businesses we interacted with. By the end of the year, we completed 2 major projects which I ran the project managment of as well as tech and marketing functions.The first project we completed was the creation of an online portal between Teesside Univerity students and Digital Businesses, this required corresponding with a software developer as well as a wide range of planning and project managment.The second project we completed was a programming tutorship program aimed at secondary school students which culmonated with a full day of programming robots at a community centre in a competition style. This required communication and project management skills to bring all of the schools that participated together and to manage the day it's self. Some basic programming skills were also used to mentor the students using the "Scratch" programming platform.
