I am a Partner at William J Marshall & Partners, a practice of engineers and architects specialising in the technical aspects of construction disputes. I aim to provide clear, independent advice on civil and structural engineering issues to non-technical parties.I am a Chartered Structural and Civil Engineer with nearly twenty years of experience including the construction of industrial facilities and warehouses, refurbishment of existing Grade I buildings, and the design of residential and commercial basements, swimming pools, commercial office developments and high quality public buildings. I also spent more than a year on site overseeing the construction of several reinforced concrete buildings and the installation of various underground drainage and road schemes. I have advised solicitors, insurers, owners and contractors on the technical aspects of disputes and I have acted as an Expert Witness and prepared CPR-compliant reports for submission in court, arbitration and adjudication proceedings. I have provided evidence and been cross-examined in the Hight Court (Technology and Construction Court): Beattie Passive Norse Ltd & Anr v Canham Consulting Ltd [2021] EWHC 1116 (TCC). I have a MEng in Civil and Structural Engineering from Cambridge University, a MSc in Construction Law from King's College, London and a LLB from BPP University. I am a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers, a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a Member of the Academy of Experts.
