My position as Environmental Specialist with Ecovigour began during my previous foray in self-employment as a sub contracted ecologist. My roles developed from a supporting ecological role to a managing ecological position, liaising with senior environmental professionals. The combination of joined up thinking with my practical and academic skill sets compelled Ecovigour Ltd to present me with a formal permanent position within the company. Since the beginning of my career with Ecovigour Ltd, I have been fortunate to experience a diverse range of challenges, from large infrastructure land reinstatement projects to small private developer projects. Each with its own overarching environmental specifications and challenges to overcome, while working with a diverse range of experienced and positive teams of individuals.I am currently CSCS Health & Safety Proficient, BESC (Overhead Lines) Certified, PTS (Personal Track Safety) competency, with a high level understanding of the Sentinel Rail Safety System, Rail Sectional Appendix and personnel management systems. Experienced in producing a variety of deliverables including; bespoke Ecological Appraisals, Habitat & Species Data Reviews, Habitat Regulation Assessments (HRA’s), EPS License Applications, Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP’s) and more. Current roles include, but not limited to;• Environmental Clerk of Works;• Environmental Consultant;• Ecologist (both surveying and watching brief roles); • Team Leader; • Environmental Systems Manager;• Site Environmental Standards Auditor;• Report Production & Quality Assessment;With future projects on the horizon. I look forward to gaining additional ranges of skills, while working with new and interesting professionals from a diversity of disciplines.

Following on from previous Ecology related employment, I decided to offer my skill sets acquired through environmental and other work related experiences to individual contractors. This resulted in my successful acquisition of subcontracted work, undertaking a variety of ecological and managing roles. These consisted of, but not limited to: Great Crested Newt (GCN) Environmental Mitigation Projects, GCN Night Surveys, Data collection and writing of daily reports. Duties on some projects also took the form of Environmental Auditing Roles, ensuring compliance to established Environmental Management Plans (EMP's) and Waste Management Plans (WMP's).

Employed to provide assistance to senior ecologists on a range of projects while gaining practical experience in order to fulfil protected species licence requirements. Primarily charged with undertaking GCN surveys at a number of large and small UK sites using a range of techniques, e.g. bottle trapping, torch light surveys, netting and egg searches. Additionally, some experience using bat call detectors during bat surveys.

Originally hired as a accessory picking and packing assistant, but quickly utilised my skills to most warehouse roles. Currently focusing on bicycle quality control, courier assignment, stock allocation and organisation. Implemented a standard for bicycle preparation and transportation. Personally ensuring the most expensive of products are thoroughly checked and secured for safe, high qualities of item delivery to customers.

Part-Time Volunteer Work. I followed a varying daily routine of maintaining wolf well being, including feeding, medication preparation, enclosure cleaning/maintenance, preparation for visitors and events. During events, I would answer a variety of queries by visitors ranging from current conservation issues surrounding predators to detailed information about individual wolves and wolf behaviour, while also ensuring responsible individual/group behaviour and safety during close proximity with wolves. The work at the trust complimented my previous research around wolf management and reintroduction potentials, giving me a greater insight into the species. Currently I assistant when ever possible around my work and other life commitments, assisting in large annual events and attending seminars, meeting prominent personalities in the world of conservation and wolf research.

Photographer and Sales Assistant. Prepared and set up the studio in the morning for retail operations ensuring equipment was calibrated and ensured a friendly hygienic environment for customers. Work with a wide variety of customers with a dynamic range of needs, always striving clearly explain and guide customers through the photography experience. Would often undertake out of store canvassing events in different areas of South Wales, communicating with potential clients presenting a friendly and open approach with people. Took great pride in going the extra distance for customers, from dedicating extra time to ensure a clear and stress free experience, to delivering photo products to customers when unforeseen circumstances prevented customer collection or when time was limited with prompt handing over of purchased orders was essential. End of day and weekly store earnings would be accounted and transmitted to the head office prior to closing and securing the studio each evening. Enjoyed working with a vibrant and dedicated team of individuals that would always enhance the positive atmosphere of the photo experience for the customers. Eventually moved on to concentrate on academic pursuits.
