With my co-founder, I developed a technology-driven start-up focused on solving the challenge of observing and analyzing early warning signals and symptoms of conditions by capturing a mix of medical, psychological, daily living and environmental data.Leveraging the recent leaps in machine learning and artificial intelligence, we overlay our user experience, software and health expertise to achieve better health outcomes for older adults. The product, Familyze, is designed to help a small, private network of family and close friends collect and collate everyday observations about an aging yet healthy loved one to track of all those tiny changes that seem unimportant on their own but which might be part of a larger pattern.The platform can be focused to look and learn about other conditions than just aging. We leverage machine learning across masses of anecdotal health data to predict the wellbeing of its users. The main user experience is through a chatbot interface on mobile devices connected to various chat apps, including Facebook Messenger and Skype.Familyze has really allowed me to deepen my understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence by attempting to solve and extremely hard problem; detecting failing health so that an early intervention can be done.

There’s a reason why sales and reading satisfaction have show precipitous declines. And, it’s not because younger generations are reading less. On the contrary, they are reading more.The problem is that no one has yet created and reimagined fiction from mobile-native perspective. Attempts to reimagine a digital reading experience have often been stand-alone apps eternally lost in the App store.oolipo is a platform for the creation and consumption of interactive mobile stories. My role at oolipo saw me undertake the the reboot of the product and technology platform. I was responsible for the full stack of technology, building out the software development team, DevOps infrastructure and processes and the product management. My tenure was very enjoyable, successful and I left with a deep understanding of digital media technology requirements and its foibles.

As Co-Founder and CTO of Loc8.com, I proactively built a business that today services hundreds of clients large and small across a vast array of differerent industry sectors. During my tenure, I evolved a deep understanding of what it takes to identify a market opportunity, understand the business domain, and then create commercially focused software that sells. My role saw me build development, infrastructure and product teams that designed and developed Loc8.com's only product, Loc8. I was responsible for the full stack of design and development of Loc8, including product strategy, web and mobile development, product release, as well as all of the supporting infrastructure and it's process. I have a deep understanding and appreciation for mobile, web-delivered, multi-tenanted systems, their security requrirements, and application scaling concerns. My day-to-day saw me work closely with product and UX design, development teams and network / system administration. I usually got my hands dirty with code or system administration daily to ensure the product was soundly delivered and to keep my skills up.I mentored and guided the development of key personnel, as well as maturing the business and its processes as a whole through my day-to-day operational management and my position on the Loc8.com board.My role also required regular interaction with Loc8.com's clients and vendors at senior management level, often including on-site consultancy and workshop facilitation.
