Create content on official Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook accounts to engage thousands of prospective and current students in student life

I am conducting research in the Department of Psychiatry under Dr. Eckstrand in the Mental health, Equity, Neural circuitry, and Development (MEND) Lab. I am working in the Parents/Peers, Adversity, and Neural circuits in Depression in Adolescence (PANDA) Study to better understand how social experiences contribute to, or protect against, depression in adolescents.

I lead a committee of Honors College students in planning and leading events for admitted students and current students. We organize and host the Frederick Honors College Alumni Speaker Series, enabling current students to connect with alumni mentors in their fields. I also represent the Honors College and engage with admitted students at Honors Day Dinners.

I initiated, led, and assisted with quality improvement projects that enhance medical treatment services for thousands of patients in inpatient units, intensive outpatient programs, and substance abuse programs. I collected data on current behavioral health programs, interviewed healthcare professionals and patients, and proposed solutions to the system’s most pressing issues. I also shadowed psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, patient navigators, and consult liaisons in Behavioral Health.

I helped coordinate, set up, and execute programs for 100+ high school and college students to learn from community leaders, developers, and officials about Cleveland’s assets, civic engagement, problem-solving, and collaborative leadership. Additionally, I interviewed and wrote reports about winners of Cleveland’s Accelerate Civic Pitch Competition, and wrote an executive summary using data from focus groups to identify how to get college students better connected with Cleveland.

I helped the Development Department maintain support from donors to ensure healthy meals for 385,000 people. I created, filmed, and edited using iMovie the annual monthly donor thank you video that was sent to over 3,500 people. I also updated Raiser’s Edge Database to help increase support from donors and confirmed matching gifts. I made a first-hand impact by volunteering weekly.
