As a research assistant to Professor Julie Blackwood in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Williams College, I test and modify mathematical models for disease transmission to study the potency of controls for COVID-19 and other infectious diseases (e.g. vaccination, medication, etc.). The mathematical framework for my research relies heavily on systems of ordinary differential equations and bifurcation theory. Using these mathematical tools, I design and run simulations for disease transmission in MATLAB.
