Throughout my three-decade career, I have established myself as a distinguished professional in environmental and civil engineering, spanning both public and private sectors. My expertise, covering areas such as sea level rise, coastal vulnerability, storm surge assessments, subdivision design, and water infrastructure and planning (including Integrated Water Cycle Management - IWCM), is augmented by a unique fusion of creativity and technical prowess.In the realm of sustainable practices, including Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD), Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), and Nature-based Solutions (NbS), my work, particularly in the Asia Sponge City Concept, stands out.My tenure at Bonacci Water (pre GFC) as 2iC to Dr. Peter Coombes and more recently at AECOM in Perth as Technical Practice Leader (TPL) in Sustainable Water, has solidified my reputation as a leader in innovative engineering. I am particularly recognised for my work in integrating water management with source control stormwater systems. A highlight of this was the New Perth Stadium Station and Metro Rail project, a landmark in the Southern Hemisphere for integrated source control stormwater infrastructure. This award-winning project and my collaboration with the late Professor John Argue on IEAust Source Control Stormwater Management Training workshops in Perth led to the inception of my first invention, KerbiDrain™.My involvement in significant projects related to Sponge Cities, climate adaptation, and tree decline investigations alongside Matthew Daniel from Global Urban Forest, has been instrumental in my career. This collaboration inspired my second invention, the Tree Nurturing System™ (TNS), a reflection of my dedication to environmentally sustainable innovation.However, what truly distinguishes me is my background in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, and Information Technology. This blend of artistic vision and engineering expertise has been pivotal in my career, earning me global recognition, multiple awards, and two patented inventions. As an adjunct professor at various institutions, I continually merge art and engineering, pushing the frontiers of what's achievable in our field.
