Lead a team of FAEs in San Francisco Bay Area, Southwest US and reps in Mexico & Brazil. I'm responsible for hiring and motivating my FAEs to ensure they are motivated, highly technical and able to search out and close new opportunities for Maxim through architecture decisions to in lab technical support. This means establishing high level relationships including chief engineers and CTOs to individual contributors troubleshooting circuits.Continue focus on medical equipment by leading an FAE peer group that is focused on wearable healthcare for using sensors for electrochemical, thermal, optical and electrical signals. Systems include vital sign patches, CGMs and pulse ox equipment.As with my previous position, I continue to work with our reps in Mexico and Brazil in identifying opportunities for Maxim products.

Lead FAEs in the Southwest US & SMB in the Bay including senior & principal level FAEs who identify opportunities for growth and new socket wins across all Maxim product lines. Review block diagrams and new product proposals for new opportunities. Direct FAE resources to maximize return on time with customers. Represent FAEs to sales management, business unit management and product definition engineering teams. Influence business units to support & develop ICs for local customers. Examples include ISM transceivers, audio amplifiers, solenoid drivers, battery management for power supplies and fuel gauges. Lead a Medical Peer Group of FAEs to improve communication in the field between FAEs with a common end market & Business Units focused on medical products. This is critical as one of Maxim’s top initiatives is medical sensor development for wearable healthcare devices. Products include CGM, clinical grade temp sensors, ECG front ends, optical sensors plus low power microcontrollers, low power regulators and security through authentication.Develop relationships with SMB (small/medium business) and new emerging customers and quickly determine resource levels of support to grow Maxim’s executive directive to grow gross margins & revenue. Includes technical support like circuit design, schematic review and component selection. Work with distribution partners Avnet & Future to review and improve Maxim’s visibility branches through trainings for FAEs and account managers and, project reviews and quarterly business reviews. Member of global FAE council representing Western US FAEs to improve communication directly from the field to executive management.

Was responsible for design in growth at customers in San Diego & Orange County by understanding Maxim’s products & customer designs. Provided presales & post sales technical support for all Maxim products like schematic & layout reviews and product selection. Used relationships with customers & BU to aid development of medical sensors like ECG front end, Pulse Ox front end, medical grade temperature sensors. Created and performed training for medical sensors & standards viewed by FAEs worldwide. Started Medical Peer group of FAEs responsible for medical accounts to improve communication between regions focused on the same end equipment. Developed block diagrams of customer’s designs to capture technical details of the broad types of designs worked on. Used Salesforce.com as CRM for project tracking. Member of global FAE council representing Western US.

Responsible for technical relationships and support for major customers in San Diego, Orange County and Arizona. Customers include top OEMs like Nokia & IBM along with other semiconductor companies like Intel & Broadcom.

At the beginning, was 1 of 2 Maxim FAEs in the Bay Area supporting customers including Apple (Mac, iPod & iPhone), Palm, nVidia, Cisco and IBM. Submitted product proposals for parts customers needed that were developed into products. Example products are MAX8902 LDO & MAX97220 audio amplifier which are still in high volume production today. Provide seminars to present Maxim products to design engineers at customers.

Wrote data sheets & performed roadtests for new Maxim products during NPI. Roadtests provided feedback to design engineering regarding issues found with the ICs. Worked with broad range of parts like DC/DC, analog switches, audio, battery chargers with a focus on RF products like ISM radios, PAs and LNAs.Recorded audio training for FAEs to learn about new products. Developed and maintained internal website for FAEs around the world. Required working with business units & FAE management to provide collateral. Provided technical support via telephone hotline & email for customers from large direct customers to small startups & college students.

Did production line assembly and testing of VLSI emulator systems. Provided installation support at top customers such as Intel. Identified systematic issues with product and provided feedback to applications and design engineering.

RF support engineering in the Advanced Technology Group within Qualcomm Consumer Products. Performed bench testing for CDMA modules which included board optimization for improved sensitivity. Extensive bench work from performing own board rework to testing with advanced test equipment.
