Cleantech to Market is a capstone course that serves three groups: (1) graduate students who develop and apply their business, engineering, scientific, legal, and policy knowledge to optimize market opportunities for cutting-edge climate change solutions, (2) entrepreneurs who benefit from the students' valuable insights and recommendations, and (3) industry partners who are seeking the next generation of technologies and leaders.Cross-disciplinary student teams perform 15-week market assessments of early stage opportunities for promising clean tech inventions from existing startups, top-tier universities, government programs, and incubation pipelines such as the U.S. Department of Energy's ARPA-E program, the Cleantech Open, Cyclotron Road, and the California Energy Commission's EPIC program. Students prepare market reports and public presentations for each technology and collaborate as a class to support each other’s work. The course culminates in teams presenting their findings at an all-day public symposium and in private meetings with their companies. Throughout, students learn skills that position them to become the next generation of innovative leaders
