Lead product engineer on Esri's Story Maps team working on developing innovative storytelling apps and helping our community of authors to be successful.For 11 years before transitioning to the StoryMaps team, I worked as Lead Solution Engineer on Esri's National Government Sales Team based in Vienna, VA, where I managed the DC Innovation and Collaboration Studio, a facility where our team of solution engineers works closely with (mostly) US federal government organizations to brainstorm and prototype new, creative uses of web mapping and spatial analytics. We focus on cloud, web, and mobile solutions.I've also served as an Adjunct Instructor for spatial data management courses in UMBC's Professional Master's Program in GIS.Prior to joining Esri I worked as a Project Engineer at Malcolm Pirnie (now ARCADIS), an environmental consulting firm, on various water/sewer infrastructure design and maintenance projects...and most importantly this was where I discovered GIS.I earned B.S. and Master's degrees in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.My experience spans product engineering, sales engineering, team management, technical writing and presentation, demonstration development and delivery, software testing/product requirements, python scripting, curriculum development and teaching, RFP writing, proposal evaluation, and water resources engineering.Other specialties include: all things ArcGIS, web map design, storytelling with maps, blogging/wikis, technology visioning, system design, cloud computing, GIS server administration, spatial data management.
