Contribute to the development and idealization of multiple electromechanical and novel robotics projects. Attend weekly full-lab meetings and present progress reports. Collaborate with undergraduate/graduate teams while also maintaining project ownership. Contributed Research:Control of Autonomous, Manta-Ray Inspired Underwater Vehicle (Mantabot)- Research objective is to implement autonomous navigation into an existing underwater robotic platform so that it is able to dock itself on an underwater charging station - Leverage two-view computer vision, ambient sensing array, and Python to implement a robust swimming guidance program- Routed sensing and power electronics (100+ pins) to Raspberry Pi 5 on a PCB designed in Altium which reduced the previous electrical footprint by 36%Maneuverability Control in a Tuna-Inspired Underwater Vehicle (Tunabot)- Research directly contributed to the development of a next generation, free-swimming autonomous Tunabot vehicle- Implemented PID control to develop a asymmetric tail flapping algorithm in C++ by precisely modulating propulsion speed over the thunniform tail’s sweeping path, ensuring highly controllable frequency modulation- Collected high-speed swimming videos and performed movement quantification using DeepLabCut and MATLAB- Paper regarding research findings is in progressBio-Inspired Renewable Energy (BIRE) for Riverine Hydrokinetics Demonstrator- Developed a demonstrator for a new hydroelectric power generation and presented demo at ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit- Designed hydrokinetic motion system (10+ custom SolidWorks components) and created a centralized electronics PCB in Altium- Synced sinusoidal motion elements (linear actuators and servos) via closed-loop control in C++ with frequency and amplitude manipulation
