Through a series of trainings pertaining to security work, I was able to execute this flawlessly in this job.As a constable, you are responsible for managing and mitigating crowds of over 500 students to ensure their safety while protecting their experience. It is important to balance being a friendly face while showing assertiveness to ensure that all students understand they must behave in a cordial manner in large crowds which can invoke feelings of recklessness and excitement.Constables are responsible for ensuring students are engaging in safe alcohol practices and protecting the Queen's University experience. As a constable, you must ensure that no student is partaking in dangerous behaviour and maintaining a stable blood alcohol limit (BAC). When students appeared to be overly intoxicated, it was our mission to ensure that they all felt safe, supported, healthy and had a safe ride home or walk via Queen's University specific services such as Walk Home which serves to walk home students that do not feel safe taking a route home alone.
