Creating design that makes a difference for people that make a difference.Upshot is an evolution of my previous business, Owen Jones Design. I head up the strategic direction and day to day management of the studio, art directing and designing, managing client relationships and employee/suppliers.My passion is for design done well – it matters a great deal how design is approached and undertaken as a process. I believe creativity carries great potential to solve business problems and is often under appreciated or undervalued. I also believe design is a tool that can be used in small business and charity environments to great success – not just for huge corporates.

Having worked with the in-house creative team at the end of 2013 to develop, refine and clarify Macmillan's updated brand identity guidelines I was able to play a part in developing tools which will be used within the identity's ongoing applications, specifically paint brush effects and techniques.I now work with various members of the marketing and brand teams to apply the new look and feel to a wide range of materials, both in print and online formats.

As a semi-permanent member of the team for several months, I worked with the creative teams in design and artworking roles, covering accounts including Wrigley, BP/Castrol, St Austell Brewery and Thatchers Cider as well as a variety of health and beauty clients.

As graphic designer at Fuel I was heavily involved in several large scale local design jobs, specifically a full rebrand for estate agents Maitlands, various signage jobs for the National Marine Aquarium, website and pump clip designs for Bays Brewery, and Fuel's own website. With Fuel's expertise stretching across design, marketing, pr, print management, web development and online marketing, I was able to gain valuable multi-disciplinary new skills and experience.

As a creative artworker for Mutual Ideas, my responsibilities were part production and part creative. I worked closely with our creative director and clients such as Rayner Opticians, Rayner Intraocular Lenses, Skoda UK and Saviour, retouching photography, producing POS material, typesetting brochures and other printed pieces.

Christian design/publishing company in Plymouth. I was responsible for overall branding and design of a new launch magazine, as well as various other magazine design including advertising for clients.
