Provided research and administrative support to the directors of Corporate Marketing and Strategic Research, including administering the department’s $2 million budget. Created competitive media and regional demographic reports utilizing a variety of market research tools and databases. Tracked the workflow of in-house marketing content production.• Devised a monitoring protocol and conducted interviews of The Seattle Times Fund for the Needy grantees to determine their fiscal responsibility, administrative overhead and year-over-year changes in fund allocations. As a result, we were able to verify appropriate use of grants and replicate best practices for future funding.

Placed stories and authored op-eds in local and national media promoting the foundation’s work. Provided programmatic and technical support to six full-service community schools working with at-risk youth. Updated and maintained the foundation’s website and marketing materials.• During a period of government funding cuts for social programs, worked with community leaders in multiple states to write and place op-eds demonstrating the necessity and efficacy of the foundation’s programs. These pieces were included in presentations to members of the U.S. Congress. As a result, the programs maintained funding.
