At Brewster Village, I continued to develop my soft skills by helping residents from diverse backgrounds with their daily activities and working closely with different staff members. These experiences strengthened my communication, teamwork, and adaptability—valuable skills in any field. While I appreciate the time I spent at Brewster Village, I realized that nursing was not the right path for me. Toward the end of my time there, I pursued becoming a Software Development student. The skills I gained in caregiving now help me approach problem-solving, collaboration, and learning in my new field.

When the assisted living home first hired me, I began my career in caregiving, gaining experience in a supportive, team-oriented environment. While at New Perspective Senior Living, I became a Certified Nursing Assistant through a six-week, in-person course offered by FVTC. This role allowed me to develop and refine critical soft skills such as effective communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving. These skills have proven essential in roles that require meticulous attention to detail, conflict resolution, and adaptability—qualities that are equally critical in machine learning.
