No longer an undergrad, looking to take on the real world one word at a time.With a unique perspective of having done manual and techincical labor while also delving fully into the arts, it's my goal to make my writing as accessible to wide audiences and to always consider the little guy. I haven't had much time to explore the journalistic space just yet, but would love to contribute to real stories in my town that could potentially make a difference.I'm a nerd in many different respects; a theatre nerd having studied Acting during my time in high school at OCVTS' PAA, a video game nerd since I held a Nintendo DS when I was nine, an academic nerd throughout my entire school life, and now a writing nerd that travelled to the city to learn everything I could about stories and the craft behind them. While fiction is my passion, I had the opportunity at the end of my college career to pivot towards journalism, and it felt incredibly rewarding.Of course, the real world is demanding, and I have never shied away from work. It's always been my attitude to bring my best to whatever environment I enter, to leave it better than it was when I arrived. Having worked in Union jobs I've found quite a bit of respect for those who can wake before the sun rises and get right to heavy lifting. Working in IT, customer service comes with the job, and it's taught me many social skills in dealing with people, and similarly I respect the people that can take on the stress of the phone always ringing in their ear.One day, I will write my own book. Maybe a series if I'm lucky. But for today, I'm eager to get to work.
