Hello! I'm Owen Taylor, a second-year Mechanical Engineering student at Toronto Metropolitan University, passionate about automotive engineering, innovation, and sustainable technologies. As an active member of the Toronto Met Formula Racing Team, I've been directly involved in designing and optimizing the team's competition vehicle, contributing to the team's successful placement in national competitions. In addition to my academic work, I've led several coding and mechanical design projects, developing proficiency in CAD, 3D modeling, MATLAB, and C. One of my notable achievements was spearheading the design of a suspension system that improved our Formula vehicle's handling, resulting in a 10% increase in lap times during testing.I have also contributed to research on sustainable automotive technologies, exploring alternative energy solutions, and lightweight materials to enhance vehicle efficiency. My experience has equipped me with strong problem-solving, collaboration, and project management skills, making me well-prepared to bring value to an engineering team through co-op placements or internships.
