During my second internship at Milliman, I got exposure to another state's Medicaid Managed Care program. During this time, I worked on analyzing potentially avoidable claims for a state's Medicaid agency and made recommendations to be incorporated into the upcoming capitation rate setting.

As a summer intern, I worked on the 2019 Retroactive Capitation Rate Adjustment. I was able to learn several new Excel skills as I analyzed data and reconciled past predictions to actual experience. I spent most of my time at Milliman on that project, but I also similarly worked on the 2017 Settlement. In both of these projects, I worked in numerous Excel documents and updated the official Certification Letters that will be utilized by the FSSA of the state of Indiana. I also spent time researching smoking, smoking cessation, and creative ways that we can try to better cessation, especially considering the Medicaid population.

Assisted in kick starting an observation study in February of 2019 through the Honors College to determine the uses of technology within the unique structure of the various Honors College classrooms at Purdue University. Beginning August 2019, I, and a team of three other students, began taking several observations of multiple classrooms every week. Data was taken for a full eight weeks on all sections of the freshman orientation class through the Honors College.

Worked as a Front of House Team leader at one of the first Chick-fil-A restaurants in Michigan. I managed the cash register while providing excellent service to guests; actively stocked all elements of the storefront during shifts, including dipping sauces, cups, lids, straws, tea, napkins, etc.; cleaned the storefront during shifts and closing; crafted desserts; and, I bagged meals for customers.*I took a leave of absence from March 2017 - July 2017 to focus on schoolwork, particularly Physics research that I was completing at my high school, the Macomb Mathematics Science Technology Center*
