About Øystein E. Krog

I am very passionate about programming and software development, and since I was very young I've had a deep interest for computers.My programming career started early by playing around with basic and since then I have tinkered with a lot of different languages and technologies, from deep assembly optimization to high-level concept languages.My core competence lies in Microsoft .Net / C#, which is the platform I have most experience with as well as my personal preference for desktop application development.I believe that one should usually consider the job before the tool and as a result I have touched upon many languages and platforms, noteworthy ones being C and C++ (my masters thesis), Python and Java.I have experience with Linux through maintaining various servers. I've been responsible for maintaining critial services such as version control(subversion/git), issue-tracking(redmine/trac) and buildservers(teamcity).If necessary I do not shy away from tinkering with hardware, I've built a lot of computers and even a few electronics projects (stereo amplifiers etc).Programming is a passion and I know still have a lot to learn, going to work is a great pleasure because I know I'll be able to do the thing I love most.Specialties: C#, .NET, WPF, Video(DirectShow/ffmpeg), C++ and GPU programming (CUDA)
