I used to believe that I was born as a journalist. I realised that I am also a problem solver and entrepreneur by heart. Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken*" summarises my approach to life. If no one has done it before, there is an opportunity for me to be the pioneer. I am the founder, business owner, and editor-in-chief of TurDef, a company I established in January 2021 to promote the Turkish defence industry. With over 20 years of experience as a journalist, I have specialised in the defence sector since 2005, covering national and international news, events, and developments. I have also been the editor-in-chief of C4Defence, Turkiye's first online defence magazine, for eight years, where I introduced sectoral publishing and advertising metrics to the industry. As a leader of TurDef, I aim to provide accurate, reliable, and in-depth information about the Turkish defence industry, its products, capabilities, and achievements to the global audience. The future of the Turkish defence sector depends on export and international cooperation, and I want to contribute to its growth and recognition. I have a strong background in international politics, with master's degrees from prestigious universities in London and Paris (located in Brussels), and I am fluent in both English and French. I am also the President of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association and the founder of the Jean Monnet Alumni Association in Turkiye.*The Road Not Taken BY ROBERT FROSTTwo roads diverged in a yellow wood,And sorry I could not travel bothAnd be one traveler, long I stoodAnd looked down one as far as I couldTo where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair,And having perhaps the better claim,Because it was grassy and wanted wear;Though as for that the passing thereHad worn them really about the same,And both that morning equally layIn leaves no step had trodden black.Oh, I kept the first for another day!Yet knowing how way leads on to way,I doubted if I should ever come back.I shall be telling this with a sighSomewhere ages and ages hence:Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
