I was a cadet working on a Crude Oil Tanker that had operations throughout the world but mostly in U.S waters. My job description:● Followed and assisted the Chief Officer and Captain with their tasks.● Filed paperwork for departures and arrivals at ports.● Assisted on keeping a lookout at sea during voyage● Assisted in the inspection and cleaning of the ship.Experience:● Wonderful experience being out at sea.● Felt the difference of being at sea and on land.● Learned to be patient and understanding of other people's feelings.● Learned to work in a group and teams.● Learned Survival skills (Fire & Rescue, CPR, Job safety and Awareness and leadership coordination).
