About Ozioma Ozigbo
I believe the burning desire to do something great with one’s life is written on every human heart. This desire looks different for everyone. For me, it includes my current role as a design engineer, where I work in the research and development of silicon carbide semiconductors; ushering in a new era of energy efficiency and sustainability. It also includes my passion for leadership & service. The match that ignites that burning desire is often lit in college. As a result, I help prospective and current college students strive for excellence, as they navigate their college years and beyond. I mentor students formally through the Society of Women Engineers, and Wake Invests in Women program. My focus areas include academic excellence, leadership development, time management, personal branding, networking, presentation skills & public speaking etc.My Catholic faith is the foundation of everything I do. It enables me to grow in the virtues required to work well with others, take on challenging projects, use my skills/talent for the common good & thrive as an engineer. My goal as an engineer is to use my skills and passions to create products that respect the dignity of each person, improve the quality of life and care for the environment (in that order). “Work is more than a way to make a living; it is a form of continuing participation in God’s creation.” - The dignity of work and the right of workers (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, USCCB)
