Successfully created and submitted grant proposals to governmental organizations and other entities for funding and further research. Responsible for generating new concepts and ideas, researching the functionality and potential applications of novel scientific materials and data, providing leadership and guidance to team members, composing and submitting final grant proposals, and delivering presentations. As an author or leading Principal Investigator, involved in over 9 awarded Phase I, and Phase II, Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contracts from the: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Institutes of Health (NIH) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Missile Defense Agency (MDA) National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Air ForceDetailed focus on the potential applications derived from shielding, radar absorbing materials, gas sensors, ethanol sensors, thermal sensors, humidity sensors, DNA biosensors, and high surface area electrodes, and water remediation technologies. Extensively researched conductive polymers (Polyaniline, Polypyrrole, Polythiophenes), metals oxides, nanomaterials, nanocomposites, thin films, and flurescences materials for potential electronic and electrochemical applications, including sensors and power sources. Emphasis on utilizing remediation and thin film deposition techniques such as Langmuir-Blodgett and Self-Assembly.

Advanced joint collaborative partnership study between UCF and Siemens involving the photodecomposition of NO2, as well as a detailed study of electrochemical and fluorescence characterization performance on organic dyes.
