Hi, I’m Oz!I’m a senior at the University of Florida majoring in Computer Science with a focus on Data Science & Machine Learning. With over 12 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, I recently pivoted into the tech world, driven by a fascination with how data can shape and transform businesses.As I dive deeper into the world of data—whether through my work, self-studies, or at school—I’m using my skills to innovate and solve problems, and I’m discovering the true meaning of loving what you do more and more. I’m particularly drawn to the intersection of research, data analytics, and product development, where I can turn insights into actions and make a real impact.When I’m not lost in code or data, you might catch me riding a horse (or clipping-- very therapeutic!) 🐎, feeding white-tailed deer 🦌 (I know! I shouldn’t! But if you knew how much they love watermelon! 🍉), or attempting to propagate plants 🌱 (with mixed results—finals week tends to decide their fate! 🍂). I enjoy cycling 🚴, hiking 🥾 (though, not in Florida), kayaking, paddleboarding, and just about anything that involves water 💧 or the great outdoors ⛺️.Currently, I'm part of the CyberGators team at UF, working on an Engineering-Directed Research project tackling a cybersecurity resiliency challenge defined and sponsored by the Navy. This project involves mathematical modeling using machine learning and AI to develop innovative solutions for cyber resiliency. It’s an exciting opportunity to apply my skills in a real-world context and collaborate with others who share a passion for cybersecurity and innovation.I'm passionate about a variety of domains—sustainability, wildlife protection, and community development are just a few. I believe in making a positive impact, whether through my work, volunteer efforts, or personal interests. I’m actively involved in my community—recently appointed as a committee member for a Neighborhood Initiative Grant in Sarasota County and volunteering with P.E.O., a women's organization that offers scholarships to female students. I’m always open to engaging in community service, especially in areas like environmental issues, equal opportunity, and senior living.
