Devi is a Teaching Fellow at Learning Sciences and Assessment Academic Group at NIE. Prior to joining NIE, she has held the posts of head of science department and school staff developer in Singapore schools. More recently, she had a three-and-a-half-year stint as a Senior Academy Officer at the Academy of Singapore Teachers. There she was involved in the design and facilitation of professional learning programmes and school-based consultation for key personnel and teachers. She worked on the development of the Singapore Teaching Practice (STP) professional conversation packages, and in the design of school-based STP consultation and workshops for key personnel and teachers in local schools. She has facilitated workshops on critical inquiry methods such as learning circle, lesson study and learning study for teacher leaders. At NIE, Devi teaches courses for pre-service teachers, key personnel, teacher leaders, in-service teachers and post-graduate students.Devi strongly believes in the concept of practice into theory and advocates educators to inquire into their practice to grow as professionals. As a PhD researcher, she is currently engaged in an in-depth study of formative assessment and feedback in primary science as part of her doctoral research.Her research interests also include science education, assessment literacy, student feedback literacy, pedagogical practice, teacher professional learning and professional development.
