Capital Improvement Manager (Capital Projects Department)
Current· Oversee and Manage City Infrastructure Projects: Plan, coordinate, and manage activities related to budgeting, scheduling, programming, design development, and construction for City projects, including streets, traffic control devices, sewer and water lines, buildings, parks, and other facilities.· Strategic Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement departmental goals, RFPs, objectives, policies, and procedures. Lead the creation and management of the City’s Capital Improvement Program and budget, including the review of CIP requests and proposals during the annual budget process.· Cross-Departmental Coordination: Coordinate Capital Projects Department activities with other City departments and public agencies to ensure seamless integration and efficiency.· Project and Budget Oversight: Direct the development of various department work plans, prepare cost estimates for budget recommendations, and justify requests related to staffing, supplies, materials, equipment, and training.· Quality Assurance and Reporting: Review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures. Prepare or supervise the preparation of reports, correspondence, and special studies to ensure clarity and compliance.· Citizen and Stakeholder Engagement: Address complex citizen inquiries and complaints, represent the department and City at various meetings, and oversee special projects assigned to the Capital Projects Department.
