I manage a group of talented engineers across three persistent agile teams, in a SAFe® working environment. The engineers utilize a tech stack that is primarily Java focused, with an increased focus on Cloud enabled development, APIs, and EDX file processing. My direct reports consist of full-time employees, domestic contractors, and vendor partners across three continents and six time zones. The engineers in my group are focused primarily on software development, with a fraction also engaged in software quality engineering. Previously, I manage a varied portfolio of projects for our QA organization. I was instrumental in our move to a shared services model, beginning in 2014. To make this a success, in addition to transition planning, I identified and implemented process improvements across IT to support the new Quality Assurance model. This required buy-in from key leaders and teams, including Business Systems Analysis, Development, and Project Management, which I forged through several training and communication avenues.
