The project demonstrates huge potential of citizen observation in environment monitoring and supporting decision-makers. Citizens do so by using their smartphones and tablets through user-friendly tools and technologies, The Scent Toolbox. It is tested in two pilots; the urban case - Kifisos river in Attica, Greece and the rural case - Danube Delta in Romania. The impact of the toolbox in the assessment of flood risks and flooding patterns is evaluated.My activities:- Led sub-teams to collect water level, velocity data for modelling using the toolbox in the two pilots.- Performed hydrodynamic modelling improvement and additional analysis for the case study in Greece.- Produced interactive materials to introduce to the public the use of our advanced tools and their processing workflows.- Assisted in preparing the project's final deliverables.In addition to the project, I assisted in MSc classes of "Exercise Systems analysis in water resources" by supporting senior lecturers in-class activities. This topic was to introduce to MSc students hands-on experience with web-based applications (in HTML, PHP, javascript, CSS languages) for water management. I instructed students in their exercises and responded to their question.Besides, I also instructed colleagues and interns use of drones in geosciences survey, a focus of my MSc research. Show less
