I followed this path at Motorola, where I started in SW but specialized in system requirements and architecture. We built the first mobile packet-data system and established an essential part of today's cloud. I enjoy building rapport with customers, capturing their experience requirements (including service and support), collaborating with vendors to build something new, and optimizing processes. In more recent years, I've worked as a freelance technical writer and editor. I always come back to requirements, process, brand, and voice.My history of guiding globally distributed teams and delivering progressively more scalable, first-to-market, highly available products helps me understand the complexities and must-haves. And a focus on writing propels all parties to the most straightforward, logical, and optimized solutions.I saw a meme that made me wonder:"To replace creatives with AI, clients will need to accurately describe what they are looking for. We're safe."▪️ That underestimates our clients, which is never a good idea.▪️ What if we helped our clients more accurately describe what they're looking for? Some of us are really good at that.▪️ To me, creativity is building on what others have done before us -- adding that extra burst of almost random insight. In my opinion, that's where AI can shine.
