About Pablo Alejo

As a 20+ year veteran of the innovation age, I’ve seen every major digital trend come and go, and I’m fortunate to have been a part of all of them. From the first websites to immersive mobile experiences and beyond-screen experiences, I’ve been there and led that. In that time, I’ve guided great companies through transformation by focusing on data-driven insights, cultural tensions, and emerging technologies to create impactful experiences and products. My passions lie in partnering with my clients to find hidden opportunities, identify user pain points, and create solutions to unsolvable challenges that revolutionize a company. I do this through a drive to explore and conquer the unknown, along with a desire to serve others to greatness. I firmly believe in the philosophy, “Together we are more.” This philosophy allows me to cross departmental and disciplinary divides that usually keep progress from happening and bring people together to achieve greatness. My work and career success are the result of my philosophy and the wonderful people I’ve been fortunate to work with.

    Svp Of Innovation
    Burns Marketing Nov 2016 - Jun 2018
    Greater Denver Area
Burns has a long history of simplifying complexity. Like over 45 years of it. As the SVP of Innovation, I oversee both creative and interactive to create a culture that constantly asks, “What if?” It is through the pursuit of the unknown we will find the real opportunities to transform a business.HPE has a 30+ year relationship with Burns. In that time, Burns has helped HPE establish brand consistency, but not innovation. During what was considered a routine UX opportunity, I realized they were missing a massive opportunity to create real innovation by creating a user-centric experience and a revenue engine. Through strong collaboration and built trust, we have been working towards a large-scale platform that will be the centerpiece of their business unit.
  • Bdw
    Adjunct Instructor
    Bdw Aug 2014 - Jan 2017
    Boulder, Co
An internationally recognized experimental design studio co-located within the ATLAS Institute and the College of Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. BDW launched in October of 2009, our anthem then was (and remains to this day): "Start Here. Change Everything." The point is that it is not only possible but also necessary and good to embrace change in an ever-changing world. Our graduates have proven this concept by making a habit of landing jobs in the most innovative companies on the planet. They also rapidly grow into leadership positions -- from advertising agencies to startups to innovative design firms and consumer product companies. As an instructor at BDW, it is my privilege to help the next generation of digital thinkers change the world by teaching students how to make great work through creative ideas, strategy, and technology.
  • Reborn
    Creative Director
    Reborn Jan 2016 - Sep 2016
    Sydney, Australia
REBORN is a boutique digital agency born of the need to help companies break through the clutter. As the Creative Director, it was my pleasure to lead a small but talented team of creatives, makers, and all-around bad-asses to innovate Sydney. This innovation came through challenging the conservative Australian mindset of big business and helping clients overcome their fears of change.Nestle is a very traditional brand in Australia. They’ve been in the homes of Aussies for generations, but their messaging hasn’t changed much and have thus, lost touch with the younger generation. We saw an opportunity to create a surprise and delight experience to reach a younger audience and begin creating a positive sentiment with Nestle and millennials. The impact was great and create 21MM impressions in the short run of the campaign.

As a Creative Technology Director, I partnered with some of the greatest brands in the world to create innovation by providing creative thought leadership and uncovering opportunities to transform their businesses. In 2012, Aspen Dental had 300 offices nationwide and generated the majority of their revenue over the phone. Over the next 4+ years, we guided Aspen Dental through a complete shift away from manual and legacy processes to revolutionize the company and embracing connected technologies. Today, Aspen Dental is leading the way in becoming an innovation company in the dental space and well on their way to 1000+ offices nationwide, all the while seeing over 1000% increases in revenue in the digital space.

    Washington D.C. Metro Area
AKQA is one of the top digital agencies in the world and has been named Digital Agency of the Year numerous times. As a Technical Manager at AKQA, I partnered with world-class talent and clients to create innovations that both entertained and added value to consumers, while improving our client’s businesses. When Delta Airlines came to AKQA, they were not a top 5 airline. They were losing market share by the year and were in desperate need of change. We worked with Delta to reinvent the customer experience using the latest technologies that people didn’t expect from an airline. We created a digital ecosystem that touched every screen that a customer would use to make their journey as pleasant as possible and threw in some unexpected featured to add serendipity. The impact of these experiences has help Delta climb the ranks and is now among the top airlines in the world.

We worked with them to concept one of the first college team branded apps that worked within a stadium.
