Working as a member of the Water Management department, my main task was to improve the efficiency of a current irrigation system in Senegal for sweetcorn. The research was compound by a previous analysis of the situation, field work based in Senegal and a deeply results analysis to develop new recommendations for the farm.

As part of my research at Cranfield University I became a temporally consultant for the company on agronomic and irrigation fields (drip & pivot systems). Working hand by hand with the local team, I developed an irrigation schedule, improving the water management and reducing the water use for irrigation in the farm by 21%. This water reduction helped to decrease directly other farm costs as: fertilisers, energy for pumping and many others field expenses.I also trained and supervised a team of more than 20 local employees introducing new ways of working focusing on farm cost reduction.
