Resettlement Project Manager

Manager, Fekola Resettlement Project, Mali (B2 Gold) – Planned and managed resettlement project of over 900 households and small-scale miners at the Fekola Mine. Wrote and carried out the Resettlement Action Plan over the course of the entire project from project initiation. Included compensation entitlement negotiation, budget management, village design, livelihoods restoration, and village handover process.• Establishing Resettlement Entitlements, Chile, 2017, Defined entitlements for a suite of households and individuals based on years’ worth of survey data at the Bocamina Project. Established reasonable thresholds and basis for various entitlements used in negotiation. Implemented use of sophisticated data management.• Local Employment Specialist, Penasquito Mine, Mexico (Goldcorp) – Developed social management plans for a socio-economic impact assessment at the Penasquito Mine. Wrote plans for local economic development, local employment, and local procurement to address risks and impacts and maximize local economic participation and opportunities for sustainable development.• Project Manager/Stakeholder Relations Monitor, Chad (Glencore E&P) – Conducted capacity-building and daily monitoring of contractors and sub-contractors implementing a broad stakeholder and government relations program as part of a seismic oil exploration project in Southern Chad. Negotiation with provincial governmental authorities.

• Coordinated regional geological mapping and prospecting programs on a gold property for 2014 field season

• Conducted restoration of a destroyed hospital in an area of civil conflict• Managed logistical organization of a camp of internally displaced persons of 30,000 people (Bossangoa). Worked closely with ICRC and UN organizations which led to more coordinated and effective solutions to the crisis• Negotiated daily with both sides of a civil conflict (governmental and rebel) for safe access to isolated populations in need of medical attention• Acted as a spokesperson for MSF dispelling myths and informing other humanitarian actors in the area

• Stakeholder engagement with artisanal miners and local land owners. • Developed long-term relationships with ASM miners, government authorities, and land owners – negotiated with them regarding land access and compensation, including first contact. • Designed and executed work projects with a focus on local economic participation and community relations. • Coordinated two phases of multi-million dollar drilling, geophysics and geochemistry programs. • Managed camp logistics and construction in a remote area of civil conflict.
