I am an Obstetrics and Gynecologist physician with 20 years of clinical experience in the field. Previously, I was a general physician in a rural area for three years, to me a very important step. I have worked as a teacher for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and also midwives. Because from the beginning of my career I saw knowledge gaps in maternal fetal medicine area in me and clinical environment, I have been working and studying conscientiously in the field of maternal-fetal medicine for 16 years. Today, I am recognized by the best colleagues in this area in my country and others from abroad. To get at that level, I worked first a couple of years in Universidad Austral de Chile under the supervision of Francisco Guerra, a maternal-fetal specialist who also is a physiologist, formed at UCSF fetal physiology lab in the eighties. His unit helped me to go first to CERPO with professor Juan Guillermo Rodríguez , then to Prenatal Medicine Unit at University of Bonn in May 2013, where I met kind and brilliant colleagues like Anne Geipel, Christoph Berg and professor Ulrich Gembruch. After that I did an observership in the fetal and placenta unit at Mount Sinai Hospital in U of Toronto, with professor John Kingdom and professor Greg Ryan in between other kind and brilliant colleagues, in september 2017. And also, I went two times more for workshops there. In December 2019, thanks to the recommendation of professor W. Sepúlveda, I did another observership, for a month with prof. Kypros Nicolaides team. Where I met him personally, see how he works and think and how his excellent clinical and super productive research unit works. Today, I think I have contributed to improve in my unit with many things like fetal diagnosis, knowledge and management of placental diseases and placenta accreta spectrum disorders, in between other things. Recently, I have worked with the collaboration of colleagues from my hospital, that our unit is the first public unit in our country, as far as I know, that have incorporated angiogenic factors in its protocol of management of preeclampsia. In addition, I did a one-year Harvard certificate in clinical research, GCSRT program, during COVID pandemia, that improved significantly my knowledge in many topics of clinical research, from statistics to team working and communication skills. And last but not least, since December 2023 I joined the editorial board of Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics, one of the oldest and most prestigious scientific journals in the field in Europe.
