Blueseed is a project to station a ship 12 nautical miles from the coast of San Francisco, in international waters. The location will allow startup entrepreneurs from anywhere in the world to start or grow their company near Silicon Valley, without the need for a US work visa. The ship will be converted into a coworking and co-living space, and will have high-speed Internet access and daily transportation to the mainland via ferry boat. So far, almost 1000 entrepreneurs from 60+ countries expressed interest in living on the ship. The project is backed by PayPal founder and Facebook early investor Peter Thiel.

Started as a Software Engineer and quickly jumped into a project for a major Wall Street firm. After a few months I became project leader leading a team of engineers on an early implementation of a private cloud computing infrastructure.Led proof of concept implementations for British Telecom and Menlo Ventures (both deals were closed successfully).I had multiple responsibilities, including team leader, software design, projects integration, technical interviews for new hires, relationship management with internal QA department and partners (Novell, IBM, System Fabric Works, SourceLabs and others).

* In charge of the optimization of the internal XML processing library, a core library for all our system's operations, obtaining an outstanding result of an optimization of 99.4%, reducing loading time from ~15 minutes to ~6 seconds.* Managed the implementation of a prepaid system for the network operator in Peru.* Technical negotiations with supplier ProQuent from Boston (now ByteMobile).* Development of the system using the MSSP of ProQuent Systems.* Configuration of the MSSP system and help on the network scheme planning from a security point of view.* Research on causes of misbehavior of many SMP Xeon Linux systems in a critical production environment with real-time processing.* Optimization of Oracle database performance through system modifications on Linux and Solaris.

Development of a Linux distribution based on Debian. Part of the 3-person team that created the C++, QT installer. The distribution enabled new users to get started with Linux with a very user friendly installation and had system configurations automatically laid in a version control system which enabled users to create checkpoints of system configurations.

Cronos II was very fun project I started when I was learning to write code. After transitioning from Windows to Linux I noticed there was no good mail client, so I started working on it. Worked on the software that handled invoices for Telefonica Moviles Spain. The software was used to print invoices and to automatically insert them in envelops and mail it.While working there, I suggested and implemented the automatization of a manual process that required hours of work each morning, which led to a better, more focused, work experience for me and other colleagues.
